This poetic memoir is about reclaiming. Reclaiming my blackness, my short afro,
my voice, my audacity.
Reclaiming my right to say fuck you to all things that deny me freedom.
Reclaiming my anger, my sass, and my sexiness. Reclaiming all that I’ve said ‘no’ to out of fear and reclaiming the yes within myself (thank you, Lorde).
This is a short collection of poetry that celebrates myself, and by extension,
all my black female counterparts, all my deviant femme family, and anyone audacious enough to reclaim themselves too.
